"Men share an innate violence that can be contained for a while but eventually spirals out of control into mayhem."

The quote is from Stephen Marche, but it's the theme of every Cormac McCarthy novel, in all their brilliant, blood-thirsty glory. Watching people slug it out reminds of who we are. It's how we acknowledge that we aren't just cerebral beings, but animals with a lust for life. Boxing doesn't just channel our aggression, it takes that pugilistic nature and turns it into art. It's beautiful: raw physicality becomes precision and power. That transformation is inspiring, especially when it's by a six-year old kid who can punch one hundred times better than most adults. Thanks for that - awesome video.
